It has excellent access to the road. Nordeste is a Portuguese village on the island of São Miguel, in the autonomous region of the Azores. This village is the seat of the municipality of Nordeste, with an area of 101.51 km² and 4,937 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 9 parishes.
The municipality is bordered to the south by the municipality of Povoação and to the west by Ribeira Grande, and has a coastline on the Atlantic Ocean to the north and east.
In Nordeste there are many tourist attractions such as the Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego, the Miradouro da Ponta da Madrugada, the Serra da Tronqueira, the Farol do Arnel, the Parque Natural dos Caldeirões, among other viewpoints that allow panoramic views of the sea.
The Northeast is well known for its vegetation and beautiful flowers such as hydrangeas and azaleas that adorn the roads of the municipality.
